Statement of Faith
1. The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and preserved Word of God, and that the King James Bible is the authoritative text for English-speaking people. The Scriptures are our sole rule for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25).
2. The Godhead
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and of the same essence (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
3. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His future return to establish His kingdom (John 1:14; Matthew 1:23; 1 Peter 2:24; Revelation 19:11-16).
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, who convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, and indwells and empowers Christians for godly living and service. The Holy Spirit also teaches, guides, and equips believers to do the work of God (John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
5. Salvation
We believe that salvation is a free gift of God, received through repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, and is not based on any works or merit of the individual (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-13; Titus 3:5).
6. The Security of the Believer
We believe that once a person is genuinely saved, they are eternally secure in Christ. Salvation cannot be lost or forfeited (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:38-39; 1 Peter 1:5).
7. The Church
We believe that the local church is the New Testament institution through which God accomplishes His work on earth. It is made up of baptized believers who are united in fellowship, doctrine, and purpose. The church is commissioned to preach the Gospel, make disciples, and practice the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41-42; 1 Corinthians 1:2).
8. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that baptism is an outward sign of an inward change, and that it is to be done by immersion after a person has been saved. Baptism is an act of obedience, but it does not save the individual (Acts 2:41-42; Romans 6:4). We also believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of Christ’s death and a symbol of the believer’s union with Him (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
9. Separation
We believe in the biblical principle of separation—separating from sin, worldliness, false doctrine, and anything that dishonors God. We strive to live lives that are pleasing to God, set apart for His glory (2 Corinthians 6:14-17; Romans 12:1-2).
10. The Second Coming of Christ
We believe in the imminent, literal, and bodily return of Jesus Christ to rapture His church, followed by a period of tribulation, the establishment of His millennial kingdom, and the final judgment of the lost. The saved will live with Christ forever in heaven, while the lost will be eternally separated from God in the lake of fire (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
11. Creation
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, as recorded in the Book of Genesis. We reject any form of evolution or theistic evolution, affirming the Biblical account of creation (Genesis 1:1-31; Exodus 20:11).
12. Marriage and the Family
We believe that God created marriage to be a sacred union between one man and one woman, and that this institution is foundational to society. We also believe that the family is a divine institution, with husbands and wives, parents and children, each having roles defined by Scripture (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22-33; Ephesians 6:1-4).
13. Missions
We believe that it is the responsibility of every believer to take the Gospel to the world. We are committed to the global mission of preaching the Gospel, winning souls, and establishing churches. We support missionaries and church planting efforts worldwide (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15).
This is the foundation of our faith, and it is upon these truths that we stand. We are committed to the authority of Scripture and the proclamation of the Gospel, and we desire to be a church that honors and glorifies God in all things.
